Mia was born on May 7, 2007.  She was the last puppy born and breech at that.  She has her mother and
father's marking ability, and was interested in birds at 6 weeks of age that is a bird wing.  We have worked
with her and she is moving along as expected.  After she got her adult teeth, we sent her to Peak View
Retrievers to be force fetched by Sheena McCorkle.  Sheena and Mia did an awesome job and completed
her force fetch training in 31 days and is now back home and playing with the big girls.

With the force fetch behind us we began our training the winter was rough in 2008, but we managed to get
some training in, water was the difficult issue as in Colorado it is cold and it take a while for the water to warm
up for dogs to swim in.

But we entered Mia in her first Junior Hunter test in the Colorado Foothills Retriever Club test over Memorial
Day, it was a back to back Junior test so if she passed she would be able to complete her first two legs.
Michele would run her in both of these test.  She did a wonderful job at retrieving her birds as well as marking
the fall.  She passed both tests with flying colors.

Her next attempt was at the Pikes Peak Retriever Club test which she also passed.  Now to see if we could
pass 4 out of 4 in a row.  We entered her in the Labrador Club of Greater Denver and she passed receiving
her title of Junior Hunter.  Great accomplishment Mia and Michelle!

Mia is no longer with us and she will be missed with all my heart she now resides in Estes Park and is having
a wonderful life hunting with her new owner - she will always have a special place in my heart.
