| Windy was born on September 14, 2005 "purple girl" and although we had never thought of having a dog with show lines she quickly took our hearts and here she is today with us. Windy is very birdy and loves to retrieve her birds so we decided to go ahead and get her force fetched once she got her permanent teeth. She was force fetched by Leslye Wood of LesMarkRetrievers in Elizabeth, CO. Leslye did a remarkable job force fetching her. Since force fetch requires a certain amount of pressure and since Windy is a show dog she had to be extremely careful not to make her shy when touched by the judges in the ring. Windy would be picked up every morning and spend the day with Leslye to be force fetched and conditioned to the e-collar and then returned home in the evening. She seemed to be very happy with this training scenario. Thank you Leslye for a great job!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the Field: So far Windy has accomplished receiving the following, in the North American Hunting Retriever Association (NAHRA) she received a ribbon for Beginner Retriever given to puppies who show the ability to retrieve a pigeon. Not only did she run that day for Michelle but she also ran 5 extra marks for kids who did not have pups. In the Show Ring: Labrador Retriever Club of Greater Denver: B-OB Match, First place, Third place and Fourth place; B-OB Sweepstakes, Fourth place June 10, 2006 - Colorado Springs Kennel Club - Second Place July 15, 2006 - Roaring Fork Kennel Club - Fourth Place September 1, 2007 - Cheyenne Kennel Club - Second Place Our future plans for Windy is to complete her Junior Hunter Title in AKC Hunt Test and also to work on getting some major and points towards a championship one day. |
